Week 1 (09/28-10/4)

10/4 Project Angel Food; Kitchen Operations 8-12PM

• Description: Help Project Angel Food with their standard kitchen operations and support their meal-delivery-mission. WAIVER to be filled out onsite.

• Location: 922 Vine Street, Los Angeles, CA 90038

• Transportation + capacity: 25-30 minute drive; 5 Belles inclusive of driver

• Credits: 2

• Sign-up deadline: Wednesday 9/30

• They really need our help, please consider signing up! The event has a dress code per Health Code so expect M or L to email you with details.

Week 2 (10/5-10/11)

• 10/10 Ace of Hearts; Adoption-Supply Event 1-4PM

  • Description: Help Ace of Hearts dog rescue re-supply their foster partners and spend time with dogs available for adoption. Tasks may include loading food into cars, supervising pups, setting up/tearing down, and so forth. WAIVER to be filled out onsite.

  • Location: 508 N Doheny Drive, West Hollywood, CA 90048

  • Transportation + capacity: 15 minute drive; 5-10 Belles inclusive of driver(s) 

  • Credits: 1

  • Sign-up deadline: Tuesday 10/6

Helloooooo gorgalicious belles!! I am so excited to finally be back with everyone after like the LONGEST summer of my life LOL. I missed everybody so much and I am HYPEEE for all the memories to be made this year YAYAY! 

While I spent a lot of the summer working, I had many fun moments throughout it all! I got to visit my dad’s new house in Nashville (Hannah Montana moment), visit my uncle and friends in San Francisco, go jetskiing in Arizona (and had to swim back because they broke halfway…), spent lots of time with my dogs, and of course, had many many beach days . I also got super invested in the World Cup for once this year, which was probably the most fun I’ve had watching sports on TV. 

ANYWHO enougghhhh about summer, I hope you all have an amazing first week of classes! I would love to hangout so pls text, call, show up at my door, WHATEVER. Feel free to reach out about anything and everything! :-)

DUES

$120 for full-year payment, $40/quarter for quarterly payments

• If you would like to request an Alumni Scholarship to help cover your dues, please fill out the following form: https://forms.gle/tW64hLRRW2qHrbku5. Look out for a reminder email from me (danielle) with the form linked as well! 

• Dues are super important to make sure Belles runs smoothly and that all of our offices can put on the AMAZING events we have planned for the year! Please get your dues in as soon as possible. I (danielle) will start sending out reminder emails periodically until the deadline, so please don’t make me have to bug you :( 

• That being said, if there is any issue with dues or payment at this time, please please please let me know, and we will definitely work something out!!! Fundraising is HERE TO HELP!

    • guys do we get the joke cuz like it’s 2 credits and back TWO school and 2 is natalia and my (danielle) favorite number

    • When: Tuesday, September 29 (TMRW) 6:30pm-8pm

    • Where: 812 Levering Ave (danielle’s apartment! hashtag housetour)

    • Requirements: $8 Venmoed to @BruinBellesServiceAssociation AFTER event sign-up but BEFORE the event begins! Submit your credit form with a screenshot of your Venmo receipt, please!

    • # of Belles: 6 max - pls come tho it’s so chill & get those credits in EARLY!

    • BTW: my roommates might be traveling/cooking in my apartment during this but they are so super nice and chill i promise

• CONSISTENT OPPORTUNITIES:

  • 1 CREDIT Fundraising: UCLA Blood & Platelet Center - donate blood! They will send you a $10 credit, and if you could pls Venmo that to @BruinBellesServiceAssociation and submit a screenshot of the Venmo receipt on the form, you will receive your credit!

  • 0.5 CREDIT Fundraising: Driving Belles to a CO event that is ~30+ minutes from campus!

  • [IN PROGRESS] Fall Fundraising Calendar: FALL26 FUNDRAISING EVENTS  - We will compile the dates of our weekly fundraising events and credit opportunities at this link! Feel free to bookmark it and check back occasionally if new events or opportunities spring up. This is a GREAT way to plan your quarter out accordingly and make sure you get your 2 mandatory fundraising credits! We will still post the week’s events on agendas with all of the relevant details, so do not fret.

    • If absolutely ALL of these dates are chopped, let Danielle or Lizzy know as soon as possible, and we are always happy to help and willing to work with you and your schedule to figure something out.

  • [WINTER QUARTER COMMITTEE OPPORTUNITY!!!] BBSA was approved to work with UCLA Crowdfunding (previously Spark @ UCLA) to receive tax-deductible donations through the university in winter quarter! Beyond Lizzy and my involvement, as well as the help from our lovely DBs, we would love some support to create our donation page, get some Belle testimonials, and do some outreach to alumni, parents, family/friends, etc., to help support this super awesome org on campus. This committee opportunity is a great way to give back to Belles, gain some leadership experience, learn a bit more about fundraising/crowdfunding, and get some cool opportunities to speak to in interviews/resume (we r womenleaders). A form will go out later in the fall to participate in this opportunity, but we wanted to let everyone know about it as soon as possible. Please reach out with any questions or to express interest!!

Hi Belles!! I’m so excited to be here and to dive into belles stuff for fall quarter. Summer went by SO fast even though I know i say that literally every year but it just felt crazy. I was in Westwood this summer and it was so nice to hang out with my friends and explore LA without having to worry about classes.

Currently finalizing the workshop schedule (shoutout to Gabriella and Julianna for their amazing help). Most importantly Initiation will be Nov 19 in the evening (6pm-8pm) please block it off!!
